You know me, I’m a sucker for clean and natural products and I like to stick to the green side of everything. There are two macro areas in which I’m particularly strict: food – I always choose wholefood – and skin/hair care.

For my skin and hair I choose natural products – the real ones, not that stuff  that claims on the label to be natural as I actually ALWAYS read the ingredients list – and in over ten years I’ve tried lots and lots of green, natural, organic stuff, from mainstream brands to local manufacturers and today I want to talk about what, in my opinion, is the best skin care brand on the organic/green market: Dr. Hauschka Cosmetics.

First of all I like that WALA Heilmittel GmbH – which is the company behind Dr. Hauschka – has been developing natural preparations since 1935. In the early days of its history, it was considered avant-garde and pioneering in a society that was barely even aware of natural preparations.

The range of their products goes from hair powder to eye serum, from intensive lip balm to face mask and hair lotion and you can swear thet I’ve tried almost e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. Yep. Sometimes I think thay if I weren’t so into skin care-hair care-make up-nutrition I could be billionaire..well, let’s forget about that and  let’s start with the list of what I consider ‘must have’ whithin Dr. Hauschka range.

First of all ROSE DAY CREAM ( NORMAL-winter LIGHT- summer ) – I’ve purchased this one so many times that I could cover my bathroom floor with all the empties so you can imagine my love for it. This is just the perfect everyday cream that nourish and protect normal, dry and sensitive skin. It’s especially beneficial for skin prone to redness, irritation and I’ve used several times as a proper treatment for active face irritation.
When I feel like using something less rich than a cream I opt for REVITALISING DAY CREAM which is more of a fluid consistency. This light emulsion is formulated with premium botanical extracts and oils to support the skin’s natural process of oil and moisture production for a supple, fresh complexion. Just perfect.
EYE and LIP BALMS: these two items are the perfect combo for cold weather. I use them at night before bed time: I slather them on and in the morning, no mather how cold and dry it is, eye contour and lips are super smooth and hydrated.
Another favorite of mine is the FIRMING MASK, which protects and fortifies, minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while nurturing and hydrating for smooth, supple, enlivened skin. I use it once in a while, on rotation with other masks, but always with great results and, most important, with the assurance that my skin won’t have bad reactions.
Among the ‘particular care’ items I want to mention the NIGHT SERUM, an oil-free night care which allows the skin to breathe freely and stimulates its natural renewal processes – makes wonders for my reactive and sensitive skin – and the RENEWING NIGHT CONDITIONER, small ampoules ( very travel friendly ) of liquid and clear material which balances all skin conditions: dry skin is encouraged to retain oil and moisture, sensitive is soothed and fortified, oily/blemished is calmed and rough skin is smoothed. A miracle water.

I’ve tried several items but the one that I would recommend is the TRANSLUCENT BRONZING TINT which in my opinion is a doupe – better and cheaper version – of the By Terry lumi serum, with the bonus of an effective improvement for the skin. This tint can be mixed with any face or body cream for a fresh, healthy glow; it highlights the natural beauty and protects and nurtures while evening out skin tone. What could you ask more?

As for haircare I will only mention the REVITALISING HAIR AND SCALP TONIC which I very like because of the neem in it but which I cannot use frequently as it has a strong scent, and the SILK BODY POWDER, which I actually use only on my hair as a gentle dry shampoo and it’s perfect.

In the end, If you are going strong on your journey towards organic beauty Dr. Hauschka should be a staple in your collection. As for me I will for sure keep on buying and buying from this brand as I’ve always had great results and for my iper reactive skin is a HUGE goal!

In a future post I will go through another of my go-to organic brand which shares a tie with Dr. Hauschka, so stay tuned <3
