One thing for which friends always make fun of me is my mania to make ‘light’ version of every recipe I cook. Famous is the cheese cake with cottage cheese lean, cookies without butter, and sugar-free muffins.
But today I want to tell you about the raw vegan chocolates, one of my creations that meet always great success, despite being a much healthier version of the common chocolate.
Among other things this dessert is healthy, tasty, simple and suitable for vegans.
If you want to taste this delicacy you will need just three things: raw cocoa beans, coconut oil and brown sugar. As equipment you will need a blender and silicone molds for chocolates.
First, put the cocoa beans in the bowl of a blender, and then go on full power for about 30 seconds or until you get a coarse powder. If you want to simplify things, or if you have difficulty finding the cocoa beans, you can directly buy the raw cocoa powder.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and add tablespoons of coconut oil until the mixture is moist but firm and then add the brown sugar. Usually for a cup of cocoa beans I use two tablespoons of coconut oil and two tablespoons of brown sugar, then you can do the proportions depending on how much chocolate you want to eat…
Mix all the ingredients together, pour the mixture into the molds then place them in the freezer.
After a couple of hours you can remove them from the molds and eat them as they are or keep them in a box in the freezer.
I prefer to eat them very cold, straight out of the freezer. However, if you prefer you can store them in the freezer and then keep them at room temperaturre for half an hour before eating them.
This will be a sin of gluttony to which you can surrender without too much concern because the ingredients are not even remotely harmful to you as those in the traditional chocolate. Try it and let me know!
